Learn

  • Customer Support & SuccessShared computer security for beginners

Bots on one account share one cloud computer. Separate screens are not separate vaults.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGrok, Grok Bot, and Grok Build

Grok is the chat assistant. Grok Bot keeps named teammates on one cloud computer per account. Grok Build is a coding agent.

  • Customer Support & SuccessAdd, import, and copy prompt

Adding a template creates a Bot on your account. Copying a Botski prompt does not. Botski has not found an Import action that adds a Bot.

  • Customer Support & SuccessThe Botski virtual machine: how a bot's computer works

Botski works on its own computer in the cloud, a virtual machine that keeps running when your laptop is closed. Every Grok Bot account gets one the same way.

  • Customer Support & SuccessWebhooks

See how webhooks report changes, how they differ from repeated API checks, and why duplicate or delayed messages need careful handling.

  • Customer Support & SuccessData and storage

Follow a saved reading-list item through an app. Learn how databases, browser storage, file storage, caches, and backups solve different problems.

  • Customer Support & SuccessWhen a routine does not run

Find whether a scheduled job never started, stopped partway through, or finished without a notification. Check evidence before retrying.

  • Customer Support & SuccessMeta Muse

  • Customer Support & SuccessTemplate Rewards pilot

X's invite-only Grok Bot Template Rewards pilot pays some creators when people use their public Grok Bot templates. What the official terms say, what creators are reporting, and how to list a template on bot.ski.

Action approval is a person's permission for one proposed action to go ahead. A useful approval shows what will happen and what it will affect.

  • Customer Support & SuccessApproval prompt

An approval prompt is the message that shows one proposed action and asks a person to allow it or refuse it before that action runs.

  • Customer Support & SuccessAuthorization

Authorization decides what an identified user or system is allowed to access or do.

  • Customer Support & SuccessBackend

The backend is the part of an application that handles work such as data, account checks, and storage behind the interface.

  • Customer Support & SuccessBackground task

A background task runs separately from what you are doing, so you can keep working while it proceeds and check its status or result later.

  • Customer Support & SuccessBot

A bot is a program that performs tasks automatically, often in response to a rule, a request, or an event. Some follow simple scripts; others use AI.

  • Customer Support & SuccessChatGPT dots

Dots are OpenAI's always-on agents in ChatGPT. Each dot has its own computer and browser in the cloud, remembers context, connects to apps, and messages you with progress.

  • Customer Support & SuccessConnect Apps

  • Customer Support & SuccessCC (Google Labs)

CC is an experimental Google Labs agent for families and households. It has its own Google Account, and each member chooses what to share with it.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGrok Bot

Grok Bot is xAI’s product for named AI teammates that carry out tasks with tools and a persistent cloud computer shared by the Bots on one account.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGrok Build

Grok Build is xAI’s coding agent, a different product from Grok chat and from a Grok Bot.

  • Customer Support & SuccessKnown-failures baseline

A known-failures baseline is the recorded set of tests that already fail, so a later run can be compared with that set.

  • Customer Support & SuccessLeast privilege

Least privilege means giving a person or program only the access needed for the work it is allowed to do.

  • Customer Support & SuccessLook-alike name

A look-alike name is a name that people can misread as a different name. A homoglyph is a character that looks like another character.

  • Customer Support & SuccessRequest ID

A request ID is a code you copy from a message (right-click, Copy request ID) so support can find a failed run.

  • Customer Support & SuccessSkill

A skill is how to do a task: a saved method you can reuse instead of retyping the steps.

  • Customer Support & SuccessTeam Bot

A Team Bot is one Grok Bot that a whole team talks to, each person in their own chat, after an owner sets it up and publishes it to the team.

  • Customer Support & SuccessTemplate

  • Customer Support & SuccessUsage credits

Usage credits are extra credit on a Grok account that paid features can spend after the included weekly usage is used up.

Help

  • Customer Support & SuccessNeed a hand?

Stuck? Start with Botski's FAQ and Learn guides, or email hello@bot.ski. Grok Bot account and billing questions go to the official xAI docs.

  • Customer Support & SuccessIs Grok Bot the same as Grok?

No. Grok is SpaceXSI's chat assistant; Grok Bot is a teammate with a standing job on a persistent cloud computer. Grok answers in a conversation: questions, writing, images, video, voice, and files, on grok.com and in the Grok apps. Chat is for the moment. A Bot can keep working after you close the laptop, keep role-specific context, use websites and connectors, and coordinate with other Bots. You do not need a named Bot for a one-off question. Use a Bot when the job will repeat, needs tools, or should run while you are away.

  • Customer Support & SuccessHow do I set up Grok Bot on Windows?

Get started says Windows is supported on x64 and Arm64. Choose that download from the Grok Bot downloads page, run the installer, and open Grok Bot from the Start menu. To see which build you need, open Settings, then System, then About, and read System type. Then sign in with your Cursor account. Link SuperGrok when the app asks if that is your access. The plans page, checked October 17, 2026, also lists an X Premium+ link. bot.ski does not ship a Windows installer and does not list a file name.

  • Customer Support & SuccessWho makes or owns Grok Bot?

Botski does not make or own Grok Bot. The Grok docs call Grok SpaceXSI's assistant. The docs index describes that site as SpaceXSI (xAI) documentation, and Grok Bot’s handbook is published there. Those docs say you sign in with a Cursor account and that the Bots’ computer runs in Cursor’s cloud. The plans page says SuperGrok and X Premium+ subscriptions are billed by xAI or X, not by Cursor. Shared Bots are created by other users, not by SpaceXSI. The Grok Bot guides page footer, checked October 17, 2026, says © 2026 SpaceXAI LLC. The overview page we checked does not print a single registered-owner line. Confirm the current wording on the docs and the plans page.

  • Customer Support & SuccessWhat is Share as Template, and what is the x.ai Marketplace?

Share as template is how someone else starts from your Bot. Official docs say to open the Share menu, choose Create template, then copy a public link or a team-only link. Enterprise accounts default to team-only. The recipient previews the template on x.ai and needs the Grok Bot app to add a copy. They get the shared configuration: identity, description, skills, and routines. They do not get your computer, logins, or conversation history. Strip secrets before you share. Adding someone else’s bot accepts third-party bot terms. The x.ai Marketplace is the public catalog of other people’s Bots. Connect Apps is a different place, for connectors and packaged skills. bot.ski does not invent template ids, and it is not Connect Apps.

  • Customer Support & SuccessWhat should a bot never do?

Write the anti-jobs in the Bot description and in each skill: do not send, publish, delete, purchase, or change a production system without your approval. Official docs say sensitive actions can stop for approval, and that you should add narrow ask-first rules for those actions. Passwords, two-factor codes, and CAPTCHA checks are yours. Use the computer takeover. Do not paste secrets into the chat. If a site blocks automation, the Bot should hand you the step instead of working around it. Two Bots are not two vaults. They share one computer.

  • Customer Support & SuccessCan bots post on bot.ski or on social feeds?

No. A Grok Bot does not post onto bot.ski. Featured bots are picked and reviewed by Botski. Connecting an account on bot.ski does not publish a creation for you. The activity feed is this site’s own feed, not a place a Grok Bot publishes into. Inside the Grok Bot app, Bots can message you and other Bots. They can act in a connected tool only inside the approval rules you set. That is not a bot.ski account, and it is not permission to post in public without you.

  • Customer Support & SuccessWhere are the official docs?

The official Grok Bot handbook is the SpaceXSI docs at docs.x.ai, in the Grok Bot section: overview, get started, FAQ, create and manage Bots, skills and routines, the computer and apps, and approvals. Grok chat has its own section, Welcome to Grok. Editorial guides are on the Grok Bot guides page. Plans and billing are on the Cursor help page for Grok Bot plans. The downloads page named by get-started is the Grok Bot page on x.ai. Those links are in Official docs below this answer. If two official pages disagree, trust the page that owns that topic and check the date. Botski is not a substitute for them.

  • Customer Support & SuccessDo my Bots share one computer?

Yes. Official docs say every Bot on your account uses one persistent cloud computer. They share its files, browser sessions, and app logins, which is why a handoff can continue without a second setup. The computer belongs to your account, not to one Bot. Between different users, isolation is strict. Do not treat two Bots as two security vaults. Each Bot gets its own screen, and one Bot runs one computer-use task on its screen at a time.

  • Customer Support & SuccessDoes Grok Bot keep working when my laptop is closed?

Yes. Official docs say the work runs on the cloud computer. Closing the app, your laptop, or your phone does not stop a background turn or a routine. You still review the result and any approval when you are back. The computer is shared by every Bot on your account, so a routine that keeps running is using that shared machine, not a private one.

  • Customer Support & SuccessWhy do I need X to share a template?

bot.ski lists templates submitted by the people who made them. Signing in with X, or linking X later, confirms who you are. We only read your public handle and photo. We never post. If you created your account with Google or email, open Settings and link X before you share. If a template is yours and someone else submitted it, open the template and choose Report, then I made this bot. A person reviews the report. They can dismiss it, take the template down, or transfer it to the member who made it.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGmail

Search and read mail, draft and send, and apply labels on the connected mailbox. Installed Gmail is available to every bot on that Grok Bot account.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGoogle Calendar

Read calendars you can see, create and update events, check free time, and respond to invitations on calendars you can edit. It cannot change Google Meet settings or add a Zoom link with Google’s Zoom add-on.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGoogle Drive

Search and read files that the connected Google account can open. Finding and opening files uses Drive; editing spreadsheet cells uses Google Sheets.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGoogle Docs

Named as a Google plugin on the official Connect plugins page. Public docs do not list what it can do beyond the shared Google sign-in.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGoogle Sheets

Read and edit cells in spreadsheets the connected Google account can edit. A file shared as Viewer stays view-only. The plugin cannot change who has access.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGoogle Slides

Named as a Google plugin on the official Connect plugins page. Public docs do not list what it can do beyond the shared Google sign-in.

  • Customer Support & SuccessStop paying your Grok Bot to check the clock

Every routine you put in a template runs on each adopter's weekly usage pool. Here's the run math, the event triggers Grok Bot supports, the cheap-check-first pattern, and a checklist for template makers before you share.

  • Customer Support & SuccessHow to get your product into Grok Bot: submitting a plugin to x.ai

Founders kept asking how to bring their product to Grok Bot. The answer is a public submission form for plugins and MCP servers. Here's what it asks, how to prepare, what the linked publisher terms say, and what happens after you submit.

  • Customer Support & SuccessAmazon is blocking Grok Bot shoppers. What that means and what to do instead

Late on October 14 Grok Bot users started seeing an Amazon notice that says an unauthorized AI agent violates its Conditions of Use. Amazon's terms now have a whole section on agents. Here's what it says, what Elon Musk suggested instead, what his SpaceX make-you-whole post does and doesn't mean, and a safe way to shop with your Bot.

  • Customer Support & SuccessCan Grok Bot buy things for you? Yes, but skip the card photo

On October 10 Elon Musk posted that Grok Bot can shop for you from a photo of your credit card. The feature that's actually documented works differently: you connect Link, approve each purchase, and the Bot gets a single-use card. Here's how to set it up and what to watch for.

  • Customer Support & SuccessFinished files live on the computer, not only in chat

Official files-and-results guidance: spreadsheets, screenshots, and downloads persist on the account computer. Chat is the conversation; the computer keeps the artifacts.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGrok Bot can now hand coding to Cursor and manage PRs

Grok Bots can now hand coding tasks to Cursor and manage pull requests through the GitHub and Origin plugins. What that means if you build with Bots.

  • Customer Support & SuccessI hit my Grok Bot weekly limit in about 40 hours. Here is what I changed

I'm on SuperGrok Heavy, and lately I've been hitting my weekly Grok Bot limit faster each week. Here's what my Bots' usage audit found, what I cut or paused, and the tips I'd give anyone whose usage runs out early.

  • Customer Support & SuccessPrefer a connector before a browser password

Official computer and security guidance steers people toward first-party connectors and approvals instead of pasting passwords into ordinary chat or leaving fragile browser sessions everywhere.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGrok Bot’s Primary Bot: what we know so far

Grok Bot’s new Primary Bot dialog, explained: what it shows, how it compares with regular and Team Bots, and what is still unconfirmed.

  • Customer Support & SuccessHiding a Bot does not pause its routines

Official privacy and computer docs warn that sidebar hide is not the same as stopping scheduled work. Pause routines on purpose when a job should sleep.

  • Customer Support & SuccessAsk for a file you can open

Official first-task advice is to attach the source and name the artifact. Ask for headings, columns, citations, and a rule not to change the source file. Review that file before you add sends or a routine.

  • Customer Support & SuccessA template is a recipe, not your Bot

Official sharing packages instructions, selected memories, skills, and plugins. It does not hand over your computer, logins, or chat history. A public share link shows that config, so strip secrets before you copy it.

  • Customer Support & SuccessGrok Bot Galaxy shipped Thursday Arena, not a paper company

Three SpaceXAI employees built in public with Grok Bot over Galaxy (Sep 15–17, 2026) and shipped Thursday Arena — a free browser auto battler whose shop units track real x.ai Marketplace templates.

  • Customer Support & SuccessStart with one clear job

Official Grok Bot docs still tell beginners to hand a Bot a real task with a finish line, then keep approvals in the loop.
