bot.ski respects creators. Members can share Memory Reels here, and they may only upload material they own or have permission to use. If you think a reel on bot.ski uses your copyrighted work without permission, tell us and we'll act on it quickly.
bot.ski is operated by Artlicious LLC. This policy follows the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
1. How to file a notice
The easiest way is the Report this link on any reel page. It opens an email to our designated agent with the page address already filled in. You can also send a written notice to our designated agent:
Designated Copyright Agent:
- Service provider: Artlicious LLC (also known as bot.ski)
- Email: sales@artlicious.com
- U.S. Copyright Office DMCA agent registration no.: DMCA-1082775
2. What your notice must include
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a notice must be in writing and include substantially the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act for the owner of the copyright.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say was infringed. If there are several works on one site, a representative list is fine.
- Identification of the material you say is infringing and want removed, with enough detail for us to find it (for example, the bot.ski/x/<handle> address and which image, clip or song).
- Your contact information: address, phone number and, if you have one, email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.
If your notice is missing something, we may not be able to act on it. If it includes items 2, 3 and 4, we'll contact you to help complete it.
3. How we respond
- We'll confirm we received your notice.
- When we get a complete notice, we act quickly to remove or disable access to the material.
- We'll take reasonable steps to promptly tell the member who uploaded it, and we'll send them a copy of the notice. That copy may include your name and contact details.
4. If your reel was taken down: counter-notice
If you believe your reel was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to our designated agent (section 1). Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), it must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal (the bot.ski/x/<handle> address).
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of a mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if your address is outside the U.S., any judicial district in which bot.ski may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice, or their agent.
5. What happens after a counter-notice
- We promptly send a copy of your counter-notice to the person who filed the original notice, and tell them we'll restore the material in 10 business days.
- We restore the reel no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice, unless the person who filed the original notice tells our designated agent first that they've filed a court action to stop the member from infringing with that material.
- If they do file in court, the reel stays down while that's resolved.
6. Repeat infringers
We will close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe copyright, when the circumstances call for it. We may act sooner for clear or serious cases. Notices that are withdrawn, or that end with the reel restored after a counter-notice, don't count toward repeat infringement.
7. Don't make false claims
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Please be sure before you file. If you're unsure whether a use is allowed (for example, fair use), consider talking to a lawyer first.
