Usage credits

Also called usage credit, extra usage credits.

Usage credits are extra credit on a Grok account that paid features can spend after the included weekly usage is used up.

Example

The weekly allowance is used up, and a paid feature pauses. Extra Usage Credits are still on the account, so that feature can continue, and those credits are what get spent. The weekly allowance itself has not grown.

Why it matters

Grok's FAQ for the website and apps calls this balance Extra Usage Credits. A paid plan includes a weekly usage allowance you can spend across Grok products. When that weekly limit is met, paid features pause until the reset. The FAQ says Chat and Voice still have separate free-tier limits, on their own schedule.

Extra Usage Credits are a way to continue paid features before the weekly reset. The FAQ says they are added to the account immediately, they are used after the plan's included weekly usage is exhausted, and top-up credits expire one year after purchase unless otherwise stated. The Usage tab in Settings shows the Extra Usage Credits balance. This page does not list prices.

How it shows up on bot.ski

On bot.ski, the Usage limit glossary page is the cap. The FAQ answer for how much Grok Bot costs says a free trial is described as a usage credit. This page is the Extra Usage Credits balance in Grok's FAQ, which is purchased credit used after included weekly usage. bot.ski does not show that balance and does not list prices.

Common confusion

A usage credit is not a usage limit and not a rate limit. The usage limit is the cap. The credit is extra room added after that cap. A free trial someone describes as a usage credit is a separate offer from Extra Usage Credits. This page is not a price list.
