Add, import, and copy prompt

Add

This is the official path from a template. The sender creates a template and copies its link. You open the preview on x.ai, read the details, and use the add control there. Official docs name that control in full. Choosing it creates a copy on your account. You need the Grok Bot app to finish.

You receive the recipe: identity, description, skills, and routines. You do not receive their computer, logins, or conversation history. See what a template copies.

Creating your own Bot is a different button. In the app, choose New, then Create new Bot. That starts an empty teammate. It is not an import of a text file.

Import

Import is the same add, from the other side. The official docs say to open Connect apps in the sidebar and choose Bot templates. The gallery opens on x.ai. Open a template link and choose Import Bot to add your own copy. Like Add, it copies the recipe, not the sender’s computer or logins.

Import Bot works on a template link. It does not turn a pasted prompt into a Bot. Other screens use the word Import for different things:

• Grok Build can import settings from another coding tool. That stays in the coding agent. It does not add a Grok Bot.
• Adding an app from Connect apps installs a connector or a packaged skill for your account. Only the Bot templates gallery there leads to Import Bot.
• Duplicate copies a Bot you already have, inside your account. It is not Import, and it is not a share link.

Copy prompt

Plan your bot on bot.ski ends with a written creation prompt. The copy control puts that text on your clipboard. Paste it into Grok Bot when you are ready: standing rules belong in the Bot’s description, and today’s task belongs in the message.

Pasting is a message. It does not press the template add control or Import Bot, it does not start a cloud computer, and it does not install anything. Get Botski has no installer.

After a real add or import, or after you create a Bot and paste the prompt, use the first hour before you turn on a routine.
