The short version
We collect limited information to operate Botski and provide the features you choose. Account identifiers, email addresses, support messages, and technical logs can be personal information. We do not sell personal information, rent mailing lists, or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Email updates are optional, and an email address supplied for updates stays private.
You can read public guides without an account. Signing in, subscribing to email, saving a record, and publishing that record are separate choices. See Your data and choices for a quick guide.
1. Who is responsible
Rich Silver, doing business as Botski, is responsible for the personal information described in this Policy. Contact hello@bot.ski or write to available on request at hello@bot.ski.
This Policy covers bot.ski and our handling of information through its features and communications. It does not govern X, xAI/SpaceXAI, Cursor, Grok Bot, or other independent services. Their privacy notices apply when you use them directly.
2. Information we collect and where it comes from
| When you interact with Botski | Information involved | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Visit the website | IP address, request time, requested route, browser/device information, and security or error information received by our site or infrastructure providers | Deliver pages, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, and keep the service working |
| Sign in with X | A stable account identifier and the public profile fields needed for your account, such as display name, handle, and avatar; session and security records | Authenticate you, identify the owner of private records, and secure the account |
| Sign in with Google | A stable account identifier and the profile fields needed for your account, such as display name, email address, and avatar; session and security records | Authenticate you, identify the owner of private records, and secure the account |
| Sign up for optional email updates | The email you supply, confirmation state, preferences, consent text/version and dates, and delivery, bounce, complaint, and unsubscribe records | Send the messages you request and honor your choices |
| Create or save content | Information you submit, such as bot descriptions, certificates, links, briefs, corrections, and selected visibility settings | Provide saved records, review contributions, and publish only the material you choose to share |
| Contact us | Your reply address, message, and information or files you choose to include | Answer questions and handle support, rights, or security requests |
| Accept Terms or change a preference | The choice, applicable document/version, time, and relevant account or subscription identifier | Record the agreement or preference and apply it consistently |
The exact information depends on which features are available and which you use. We obtain submitted information from you, account identity information from X or Google when you sign in with those methods, technical information from your browser and service infrastructure, and email-delivery events from our email provider. We do not buy contact lists or enrich your profile with purchased personal data.
We do not request your X password or X email address, private messages, follower list, or permission to post on your behalf for website sign-in. Providing an email for updates is separate from X sign-in. Sign in with Google may include the email address on that Google account for account identity; that is not a newsletter signup. We do not need your legal name, phone number, home address, government identification number, or exact date of birth to provide an ordinary account or newsletter subscription.
Please do not submit passwords, private keys, sensitive identity documents, or other unnecessary sensitive information. A form accepting text does not mean we need every personal detail you could put in it.
3. How we use information
We use information for the purposes shown above, to maintain your choices, meet legal obligations, and investigate or resolve abuse and disputes. We do not use private submissions or subscriber lists to train a general-purpose AI model for Botski, and we do not authorize our service providers to use that material for their own general-purpose model training.
If a website feature sends your input to an AI provider, we identify that provider and explain the relevant handling before you send the input. Information you submit directly in the Grok Bot application is governed by that application's arrangements, not this website's controls. Do not assume that a website account connects us to your private Grok Bot conversations or computer.
Where European or UK data-protection law applies, our legal bases are performance of a contract or steps you request before a contract for account and requested service functions; consent for optional marketing and any optional tracking; legitimate interests in securing, maintaining, and supporting the service and keeping limited compliance records, after considering your rights; and legal obligations where applicable. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing based on that consent.
We do not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Automated spam or security restrictions can be raised with hello@bot.ski for review.
4. Private information and public contributions
Private records remain private unless you choose to publish the fields shown in a preview. Signing in, claiming a creation, or subscribing to updates does not publish a record. A claimed handle’s profile at /u/your-handle is public unless you make it private in Settings. Botski does not offer a directory or search of people. Public submissions may show the attribution you selected, such as a display name or handle. Email addresses, private notes, claim secrets, and account credentials are not public profile fields.
Public content can be viewed and copied by others and indexed by search engines. If you unpublish or remove something, copies held independently by others may remain. Collaborative handbook contributions and their edit history may remain after account closure, with personal attribution removed or reduced where appropriate and subject to applicable rights. Contact us to address personal information in a contribution or revision.
5. When information is disclosed
We use service providers for functions such as hosting, security, authentication, storage, support, and email delivery. We provide information needed for their assigned work and require appropriate protections. Sending email necessarily involves an email provider handling the recipient address; that is different from selling or giving a list to unrelated marketers.
Our current provider information is listed below. Independent services you choose to use may also process information under their own notices.
Some blog posts embed X posts, which load content from X (twitter.com, x.com, and twimg.com) only after you choose to load that post. X may set its own cookies (for example __cf_bm) and may log the view under X’s own policies; we do not control that storage. X posts that carry a broadcast, LIVE stream, or video always show as a simple card with a link to the post, and we do not load X for them. When your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we do not load X and show that simple card for every post; the same card appears if an embed fails. YouTube videos, where shown, use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com). See Cookies and preferences.
| Provider | Role | Information involved |
|---|---|---|
| Website host and edge (Cloudflare when connected) | Deliver pages, TLS, and abuse prevention | IP address, request time, requested route, browser/device information, and security or error information |
| Application database (PostgreSQL) | Store accounts and saved records when those features are available | Account identifiers, public profile fields used for the account, saved content, and security records |
| Better Auth | Create and protect sign-in sessions | Session identifiers and related security records |
| X | Sign-in when you choose Sign in with X | A stable account identifier and public profile fields needed for the account, such as display name, handle, and avatar |
| Sign-in when you choose Sign in with Google | A stable account identifier and profile fields needed for the account, such as display name, email address, and avatar | |
| Email delivery provider (Resend when connected) | Send messages you request | The address you supply and delivery, bounce, complaint, and unsubscribe records |
| Object storage (S3-compatible when connected) | Hold private files and exports when those features are available | Files you upload or that we generate for a request you made |
We do not send Botski website inputs to an AI provider. Optional analytics and advertising tools are off. Sign in with Google is an account method alongside Sign in with X; Google Analytics is not used.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or a valid legal request, protect rights and security, investigate abuse, or handle a legitimate business transfer with appropriate confidentiality and continued privacy protections. We do not use those exceptions as permission to sell subscriber lists or disregard an unsubscribe request. Otherwise, we disclose information when you direct us to or give a valid permission for a clearly explained purpose.
6. Email choices
We send optional updates after you request them and confirm the address. Creating an account or contacting support does not subscribe you. You can stop marketing using the unsubscribe link in any update, your preferences where available, or a request to hello@bot.ski. No account or fee is required to unsubscribe.
Unsubscribing stops future marketing. A message already handed to an email-delivery service may still arrive. We may still send a necessary response you requested or a strictly service-related notice where appropriate; we do not insert promotions into those messages to bypass your choice.
We keep a minimal suppression record to avoid emailing an address that has opted out. We do not use newsletter open pixels or personalized marketing-link tracking. Delivery and complaint records are used to operate the mailing service. Read Email updates.
7. Cookies and similar storage
We use necessary session, security, and preference storage to operate the site. Botski’s own optional analytics and advertising trackers are off by default; embedded X posts load from X as described in section 5. If we offer optional tracking, we explain it and obtain the appropriate permission before activating it. Refusing it does not block public guides or essential account functions. See Cookies and preferences.
We do not conduct cross-site behavioral advertising. We honor Global Privacy Control as a request to keep sale, sharing for behavioral advertising, and optional tracking disabled unless you explicitly Allow analytics in Cookie preferences. A browser's separate Do Not Track signal is handled the same way — optional tracking stays off until you Allow. These signals do not prevent processing needed to deliver pages or maintain security, and they do not subscribe or unsubscribe an email address.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep information only for the purpose that requires it, subject to necessary legal or security retention. Our normal limits are:
| Category | Normal retention |
|---|---|
| Account and private saved records | While you use the account; remove from active systems within 30 days after a verified deletion request, unless a lawful exception applies |
| Unconfirmed newsletter signup | Confirmation expires after 48 hours; remove the unconfirmed address within 30 days |
| Active newsletter address and preferences | Until you unsubscribe or request deletion; then remove unnecessary mailing-profile data within 30 days |
| Consent and withdrawal evidence | During the subscription and up to three years after it ends, limited to information needed to demonstrate the choice or handle a dispute |
| Do-not-email record | As long as needed to prevent unwanted mail; retain a protected matching identifier and reason rather than an unnecessary full profile |
| Routine technical and security logs | Up to 30 days; specific incident evidence may be retained longer while it is needed for investigation or legal purposes |
| Routine email-delivery history | Up to 90 days; longer-lived aggregate counts do not retain contact links where practical |
| Administrative access and export audit records | Up to 12 months, unless a specific incident or legal obligation requires longer retention |
| Support correspondence | Up to 12 months after the request is resolved, unless a longer period is needed for a continuing dispute or legal obligation |
| Limited agreement and privacy-request records | Up to three years after account closure or request resolution, unless a different period is legally required |
| Backups | Age out within 90 days; deleted information is not restored to ordinary use |
Public collaborative content may remain as explained above. Legal retention is limited to the relevant records and does not permit unrelated marketing. We review retained information and delete or de-identify it when the reason for keeping it ends. A protected or hashed identifier may still be personal information; we do not describe it as anonymous merely because it is transformed.
You can request deletion without closing a Grok Bot account or deleting a bot held by another provider. Deleting a Botski account also stops marketing associated with its linked email address. A separate newsletter-only subscription can be managed through its unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
9. Security and international processing
We use safeguards appropriate to the information and service, including restricted access and secure transmission. No website or storage system is completely secure. Report a suspected issue to hello@bot.ski without including passwords or unnecessary sensitive data.
Information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Those providers may store or access information outside your home country. We use them only for the roles listed in this Policy and require appropriate contractual and technical protections. If a listed provider is not connected, it does not receive your information.
10. Your rights and requests
You may contact us to ask what information we hold about you, request a copy, correct it, request deletion, or change your communication choices. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, appeal of a decision, or complaint to a data-protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Send requests to hello@bot.ski. Tell us the account or email involved and the request; do not send a password or identity document. We may use proportionate verification before disclosing or deleting private information. We do not require account creation to make a request, and unsubscribe does not require identity-document checks.
We aim to respond within 30 days and will meet applicable legal deadlines, including a shorter deadline where required. If a lawful extension or exception applies, we will explain it. If you disagree with a response, reply asking for a review; this does not limit your right to complain to a regulator or seek another remedy. If California privacy law applies to our business and your request, its applicable access, correction, deletion, and other protections remain available to you.
11. Children
Accounts, subscriptions, and interactive features are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact hello@bot.ski so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Do not send the child's sensitive documents unless a specific, secure verification process is needed and explained.
12. Policy changes
We will post updates here with an effective date and provide appropriate notice of material changes. We will obtain a new permission if a new purpose requires it. Updating this Policy does not itself enroll you in email marketing or make private content public.
