Getting paid for Grok Bot templates: the Template Rewards pilot
On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, many creators on X posted about payouts they hadn't expected and connected them to the Grok Bot templates they had shared. [2][3] Some creators call the program Grok Bot Creator Rewards. [2] X's official terms call it the Grok Bot Template Rewards Pilot Program, and this guide follows the terms. [1]
TL;DR
- It's an invite-only pilot from X. It started September 25, 2026 and is expected to run about two months. [1]
- X may pay creators when other people use their public Grok Bot templates. Payments are discretionary and are not a revenue share or guaranteed income. [1]
- Rewards are set every two weeks for now and paid in US dollars to X Money. [1]
- The program is separate from Original Content Rewards, though both use the same payout run. [1]
- bot.ski is independent. You can list a shared template in the bot.ski Directory, but that has no effect on the pilot.
What the official terms say
X's Terms are the authority on eligibility and payouts. [1]
- It's a limited pilot. It started September 25, 2026 and is expected to run about two months. X can extend, change, pause or end it at any time.
- It's invite-only. An invitation doesn't guarantee that you can participate or that you'll be paid. You have to accept the terms before you can be paid.
- Eligibility. You must be 18 or older and located in the US, in a state where X Money is supported. You need a Grok Bot account and an X account in good standing, with a verified email on the Grok Bot account, and an eligible X Premium tier or an affiliation with an eligible Premium Business. You also need an active X Money account, with its identity, tax and payment onboarding complete. X employees and contractors (and those of its affiliates) aren't eligible, and neither are sanctioned persons.
- Disclosure. Any post that promotes an eligible template must use X's paid partnership label. The post with your template's share link must stay public and unedited for at least 30 days after the period it qualified for.
- How X decides. X decides whether to pay you and how much. Its factors may include how other Grok Bot users use your templates. These don't count: your own use, accounts tied to you, employee use, and use on free trials.
- Cadence and minimums. Rewards are set every two weeks for now, and X can change that cadence. Amounts below a minimum threshold, which the Help Page sets, aren't paid and don't carry forward.
- Payment. Rewards are paid in US dollars to your X Money balance through X's creator payout run, the same process Original Content Rewards uses. The program itself is "separate from X's Original Content Rewards Program and from any other X program."
Figure explanation: Three numbered steps run top to bottom. Step 1: publish a useful, public Grok Bot template that is your own work. Step 2: share its link on X with the paid partnership label. Step 3: every two weeks for now, X reviews how other people use it and decides whether to pay a discretionary reward to X Money.
What other creators are reporting
Creators on X reported their own results on October 13. @Teslaconomics reported $723 in two weeks, and @bradshannon reported a $150 deposit he linked to Grok Bot templates. These are their own reports, not published rates. The terms allow participants to share the amounts they're paid. [1][2][3]
How to list a template on bot.ski
bot.ski is separate from the official marketplace. You install and share Grok Bots through x.ai/bot. bot.ski keeps a member-submitted Directory where people can list their shared templates:
- In Grok Bot, open the bot's settings and choose Share as Template. Review what's included, then publish a public link. [4]
- Sign in at bot.ski and open Directory submit. Template submissions need a human account.
- Choose shared template. Add a title, your own summary (up to 500 characters, with no credentials or unrelated links) and the share URL. The URL must be a real x.ai/bot share link. Category is optional.
- Your submission goes to staff review. It appears publicly once it's approved.
The Hall is a different thing. It lists reviewed Botski records only, and you can't submit to it. Listing on bot.ski doesn't affect the X pilot in any way.
Rich's take
Rich posted about the terms on October 9, the day after he was added. [5]
bot.ski is independent and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by X or xAI. Program details can change, and the official X pages are the final word.
