What a template copies
A templateA template is a recipe for a Grok Bot, not a clone of someone’s computer or chat. is a recipe, not a clone. Someone else can start a Bot from your setup. They do not receive your computer, your logins, or your conversation history.
What the other person gets
Open the Share menu and choose Create template. When it is ready you can copy the link, view the template details, and update the template later.
A public link shows the shared configuration:
- Identity, including the name and avatar the template carries
- Description
- SkillsA skill is how to do a task: a saved method you can reuse instead of retyping the steps.
- RoutinesIn Grok Bot, a routine tells one Bot when to run a workflow: on a schedule or, where supported, after an event. A test of a routine does real work.
The recipient opens a preview and can add a copy. They need the Grok Bot app to finish. AddingIn the Grok Bot app, Add creates a Bot from a template. Copying a prompt does not. creates that copy on their account. It accepts third-party bot terms, because the Bot was made by another person.
What stays behind
- Your cloud computer, including files under the shared workspaceIn Grok Bot, every Bot on an account uses the same cloud computer. Files, browser sessions, and command-line credentials on it are shared.
- Browser sessions and other logins

- Conversation history
Their new Bot then uses their one computer — the one assigned to their account, not a clone of yours, and not a private computer for that Bot alone. Read shared computer security before you treat two Bots as two vaults.
Who can open the link
Choose Public link or Team-only. Enterprise accounts default to team-only. Other accounts default to a public link. Anyone with a public link can open it. A team-only link opens for members of that team.
The link shows the configuration. Remove API keys, customer data, and internal URLs before you share. bot.ski does not invent share ids.
A duplicate is a different copy
Duplicate stays inside your own account. The copy is named with “copy” on the end. It carries the profile, settings, enabled skills, routines, and avatar. It does not copy conversation history, learned memory, or chat attachments. Rename it and set the new scope before you give it work.
A duplicate still uses the same account computer. One more Bot is not one more machine.
