Why this word exists

A skill sits until someone asks. A routine is the clock: run this, on this Bot, at this time, even if the laptop is closed.

The word is the ordinary one. Official docs use it for that schedule. A test run is not a rehearsal with toy results. It performs the work.

Where you will meet it

Botski’s first-hour guide says to watch one successful task before you create a routine. A template can list routines, and the copy on your account is what will fire.

The routine calculator on bot.ski is a planning tool. It does not start a Bot and it does not install a schedule.

Examples

• Every Monday a Bot files a status note. That clock is a routine. The writing rules it follows can be a skill.
• You press test. Mail goes out or a file changes, because the test does the real task. Read the result before you trust the clock.
• You close the laptop. The routine can still run, because it is on the account’s computer, not on the laptop.
