When a share link is stale

What a real link is

The owner opens the Share menu, chooses Create template, then Copy link. They pick Public link or Team-only. Enterprise accounts default to team-only. You open that link, read the preview, and only then decide to add a copy.

The preview shows configuration: identity, description, skills, and routines. It does not hand you their computer. See what a template copies.

When to treat it as stale

• The preview does not open.
• You are not on that team, and the owner sent a team-only link.
• The name, description, or routines on the preview do not match what the sender described.
• You copied the link from an old chat, email, or screenshot and have not read the preview again.
• Someone asks you to type an id from memory, or to trust an id that appeared on bot.ski. We do not mint those.

Official docs show Update template on the owner’s side. Botski has not found an official expiry time, and has not found a statement that updating the template rotates the link. Do not guess. If the preview looks wrong or will not open, ask the owner to copy a fresh link and read that preview.

What to do

1. Open the link you were just given. Read the preview.
2. If it fails or disagrees with the description, stop. Ask for a new copy of the link.
3. Do not build an address by typing an id you remember.
4. Marketplace in the sidebar is for connectors and packaged skills. It is not a substitute for a template link.
5. After a real add, follow your first hour. The new Bot uses your account’s computer.

If you are the one sharing

Strip API keys, customer data, and internal URLs before you copy the link. If you change the Bot, use Update template and tell people to read the preview they see now. An old screenshot of your link is not a promise that the details are unchanged.
