A clock or an event can wake the Bot
Skills, routines, and automations describes routines that fire on a schedule or when a matching outside event arrives. The point for beginners: the Bot can keep a standing job without you sitting in the chat.
Official docs still treat a skill as the reusable recipe and a routine as the trigger that runs it. Prove the one-off once, save the skill, then attach the schedule or listener.
Quiet when nothing changed
Many standing jobs should stay silent when the world did not move. That is a craft choice you write into the Bot’s instructions — not a hidden product switch. If you want a morning check only when something is new, say so in the skill.
Approvals still matter
A routine does not erase stop lines. Sends, posts, payments, and other consequential moves still need the approvals you set. Review the first few automatic runs the same way you would review a manual handoff.
