Grok Bot shopping got a real product UI. On October 27 the official changelog shipped shopping cards (photo, rating, price, store, badges), product pages with in-stock options first, Shop Pay in the Vault Payments tab, and shipment cards after you approve an order. This week @bot and Elon Musk pointed people at that experience.
All times are America/Chicago.
Official: cards, compare, track
From the Oct 27 changelog:
- Product results show as cards (photo, rating, price, store; up to two badges such as Top rated).
- Three or four results can scroll in a carousel; you can swipe product photos.
- On a product page, in-stock options come first; Buy now starts an order you approve.
- After you place an order, the Bot tracks it and shows shipment cards (carrier and stage).
- Connect Shop Pay under Vault → Payments, then pick it at checkout or make it the default payment method Bots try first.
- Templates for free-trial cancel / remind, unused subscriptions, and renewal-price watches ship in the same release.
On November 3, @bot posted:
> Try the new shopping experience in Grok Bot. Find the best deal, compare items, and have Bot track all your orders.
Elon quoted that post early November 4:
@mattyp's November 2 "What's New in Grok Bot" video walks shopping cards, product pages, order tracking, and payments in the first minute.
How this differs from our Oct 12 note
Our earlier post, Can Grok Bot buy things for you?, covered Stripe Link and Elon's card-photo tip. That path still matters for approvals and one-time cards. The Oct 27 drop is the in-chat shopping UI plus Shop Pay and tracking — the part visitors see when they ask a Bot to find and buy something.
You still approve purchases. The changelog keeps that rule: Bots confirm with you before changing subscriptions or completing a buy.
Shop-floor takeaway
If you already shop with a Bot, update the app, connect Shop Pay (or Link) in Vault → Payments, and ask for a short comparison before Buy now. Use the shipment cards instead of refreshing the store site by hand.
