Grok Bot chats now take each Bot's color

On October 9, John Bai posted "Grok Bot just got a lot more colorful," telling people to try it by turning on Bot color in settings. Lingxi from the Grok Bot team reposted it.

The official changelog entry for October 7 (v0.68.1) describes the change: your messages in a 1:1 Bot chat take that Bot's color. To turn it off, set Accent to Black in Settings → General. It needs Grok Bot 0.64.0 or later.

How it works

1. Each Bot has an avatar color. 2. Open a 1:1 chat with that Bot. 3. Your message bubbles use that color, so each Bot's chat looks different at a glance. 4. Prefer the old look? Go to Settings, General, Accent: Black.

Try it, step by step

StepWhat to doWhat you'll see
1Update Grok BotYou need 0.64.0 or later
2Open a 1:1 chat with one BotGroup chats aren't part of this change
3Send a messageYour bubble takes that Bot's color
4Open another Bot with a different avatar colorIts chat uses its own color
5To turn it off, open Settings → General and set Accent to BlackYour messages go back to a neutral color

A Bot can change its own avatar shape and color (changelog, Sep 14), so asking a Bot to pick a new color also changes how its chat looks.
