Primary Bot
Primary Bot is a role the Grok Bot app introduces for your go-to Bot, one that works proactively on everyday tasks and checks in when it needs your help.
Why this word exists
Many people already ran one Bot as a chief of staff over their other Bots. SpaceXAI’s Grok Bot launch post describes that pattern inside the company. The Introducing Primary Bot dialog gives that go-to Bot a name in the app.
As of September 30, 2026, there is no official docs page for Primary Bot. The wording here comes from the dialog itself, so treat anything beyond it as unconfirmed until the docs catch up.
Where you will meet it
A dialog titled Introducing Primary Bot says Primary Bot does work proactively, is your go-to for everyday tasks, unblocks your work, and checks in when it needs your help. It offers two buttons: Use an existing Bot and Create Primary Bot.
A Team Bot is a different idea. The official docs describe a Team Bot as one Bot your whole team talks to, each person in their own chat, and suggest a personal Bot for an everyday assistant.
Examples
- You already have a Bot that keeps an eye on your other Bots. In the dialog you choose Use an existing Bot instead of starting over.
- You are new and have no Bots yet. You choose Create Primary Bot and hand it one concrete everyday task first.
- Your Primary Bot reaches a sign-in only you can finish. It checks in and asks for your help, the same way any Bot hands a human step back to you.
