Grok Bot download for Windows, Mac and Linux

You download Grok Bot from the Grok Bot page at x.ai/bot, which Get started calls the Grok Bot downloads page. There is a desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux, plus a phone app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and bot.ski does not host an installer of its own.

Which download do I need?

The Grok Bot FAQ lists these builds:

  • Mac: Apple silicon or Intel
  • Windows: x64 or Arm64
  • Linux: x64 or Arm64, as a .deb package, an .rpm package, or an AppImage
  • iPhone: iOS 18 or later. The same app runs on iPad with iPadOS 18 or later.
  • Android: Android 9 or later

Not sure which one fits your computer? Get started gives a quick check for each system:

  • Mac: open the Apple menu, then About This Mac. A Chip line means Apple silicon. A Processor line means Intel.
  • Windows: open Settings, then System, then About, and read System type.
  • Linux: run uname -m in a terminal. x86_64 means x64. aarch64 means Arm64.

On October 17, 2026, the download section on x.ai/bot named the Mac Apple silicon build. Get started says the other builds sit under More downloads. The opening line on that product page talks about desktop or iOS. The docs FAQ and overview also list Linux and Android. We go by the docs, which give the longer list.

Install on a Mac

From Get started:

1. Choose the Apple silicon or Intel download. 2. Open the disk image you downloaded. 3. Drag Grok Bot into Applications. 4. Open Grok Bot. If macOS asks you to confirm, choose Open.

Install on Windows

1. Choose the x64 or Arm64 download. 2. Run the installer. 3. Open Grok Bot from the Start menu.

The short Windows page is How do I set up Grok Bot on Windows?. The install page is How do I download and install Grok Bot?.

Install on Linux

Get started says Linux builds come out with every stable release, under More downloads on x.ai/bot.

1. Pick x64 or Arm64 in your system's package format: .deb for Debian and Ubuntu, .rpm for Fedora and RHEL, or the AppImage for other systems. 2. Install the .deb or .rpm with your package manager. For the AppImage, make the file executable and run it. 3. Open Grok Bot from your app launcher.

The app checks for updates by itself. You can also choose Check for Updates under Settings, then Updates.

Install on iPhone, iPad or Android

The Grok Bot for Mobile page links to the App Store and Google Play listings. Use those links. Grok Bot is a different app from the Grok chat app, and the two have separate store listings. The phone app connects to the same Bots, conversations, routines and cloud computer as the desktop app. Editing a routine's schedule or instruction, and testing a routine, still need the desktop app.

Sign in after you install

Get started says:

1. Choose Sign in on the welcome screen. If you are already in the app, use Sign In with Cursor from Settings. 2. Finish signing in in the browser window that opens, then come back to the app. 3. If your access comes from a SuperGrok subscription, link it when the app asks. On desktop, Settings → Usage & Billing offers Link SuperGrok Heavy, and the label names the SuperGrok tier for your account. On iPhone and Android, the access screen offers Link Grok Account, then Finished Linking? Refresh My Status.

Grok Bot uses a Cursor account. It also needs cloud data storage, so accounts on Legacy Privacy Mode have to switch to a supported Cursor data setting before Grok Bot will start.

Is the download free?

The app download itself is free. To use Grok Bot, you need a plan that includes it. On October 17, 2026, the X Subscription pricing docs and x.ai/pricing listed Premium at $30 a month, Super at $100 a month, and Ultra at $200 a month. Those three include Grok Bot. Plus was $8 a month, and Free was $0. The pricing docs and the Plans and billing page say Plus and Free don't include Grok Bot. x.ai/bot listed Premium at $30 a month that day. Yearly prices are on the X Subscription pricing docs. Prices change, so check before you pay.

The Plans and billing page says older ways in still work. Legacy Cursor Pro, Pro+, Ultra and Teams plans include Grok Bot. You can also link an individual SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy or X Premium+ account, or sign in with a Grok account that has a seat on a self-serve Grok Business plan. SuperGrok Lite does not include Grok Bot. On The X Subscription, Premium, Super and Ultra draw from one weekly pool shared with Cursor and the Grok apps, and extra use is paid from prepaid credit. A Cursor plan and a SuperGrok or X Premium+ link do not add together. Grok Bot uses whichever grants more weekly usage. The Grok Bot free trial is a usage credit, drawn down by agent steps and tokens, and a 7-day window also applies. An App Store intro offer is separate. Apple runs that offer, and it turns into a paid Apple subscription when the offer ends unless you cancel first. See How much does Grok Bot cost?.

Your Bots don't run on the computer you installed on

The app is where you talk to your Bots. The work itself happens on a cloud computer. The overview says those computers run in Cursor's cloud, and the FAQ says closing the app or your laptop does not stop a task. Installing on a second device doesn't create a second computer either. Your Bots and conversations sync across every device you sign in on.

The docs we checked don't explain how to uninstall the desktop app. If you want to remove a Bot or your account instead, see How to delete Grok Bot.
