Fine-tuning
Also called fine-tune, fine tuning.
In plain English
Fine-tuning is extra training that adjusts an already trained model with more data, so it fits a task or style better.
Example
A company fine-tunes a model on its past support replies so new replies match its tone.
Why it matters
Anthropic's glossary describes fine-tuning as further training a pretrained language model with additional data. It can adapt a model to a domain, a task, or a writing style, but the training data has to be chosen with care because it can affect the model's performance and biases.
How it shows up on bot.ski
Botski guides teach instructions, skills, and routines, not fine-tuning. Nothing on bot.ski trains a model.
Common confusion
Fine-tuning changes the model itself. Giving a Bot instructions or files does not. Most beginners never need to fine-tune anything.
