Live
In plain English
On the public website right now so visitors can see it, the opposite of a draftA draft is work that is not finalized yet..
Example
The glossary hub is live. A new term that is still a draftA draft is work that is not finalized yet. is not. Merged to main but not deployed is not live yet.
Why it matters
Live means on the public website right now: visitors can see it after a real deployTo deploy is to make a version of software available where it can run or be served, such as a preview, a test system, or production..
Merged is not the same as live. A change can be on main and still wait for a deployTo deploy is to make a version of software available where it can run or be served, such as a preview, a test system, or production.. A hard-refreshForce the browser to reload files from the server, not from its cache, so you see the newest version of a page. helps confirm what is actually live.
