What are skills and routines?
A skill is a reusable set of instructions for how to do a task: when to use it, what it needs, the steps, how to check the result, what to return, and what requires approval. A routine assigns a workflow to one Bot and tells it when to run, on a schedule or, where supported, after an event. Official docs say to make a one-time task reliable, save it as a skill, and only then automate it. Private skills are one library shared by your Bots. On desktop, type / to reference a skill and @ for a Bot, group, routine, or connector. Marketplace in the sidebar is where the docs say you install connectors and packaged skills.

Limits worth knowing
- A Bot can own up to 50 routines. The app keeps the 20 most recent run records for each one.
- Deleting a routine is immediate and has no undo. Deleting a Bot also removes routines that Bot owns.
- Hiding a Bot does not pause its routines.
- A test run performs real work. Use safe inputs and keep writes behind approval.
- Teach a task, when you see it, records a browser workflow for up to ten minutes and saves a draft skill. It does not record microphone audio.
Event triggers, such as a Slack message or a GitHub notification, are described as Cursor account integrations and are separate from Slack or GitHub plugins. Keep the matching rule narrow.
